Virtual Acrylics 101 Painting Course

In this fun and creative acrylic painting course we will cover topics including: colour theory + mixing, light and value, applying light and colour to objects as well as objects in composition.

This is a 4 week course with two hour sessions. This course is perfect for beginners who would like to build their confidence and refine their acrylic painting skills.

Instructor: Christie Carriere

Class One:

Introduction to materials, colour wheel + mixing, value scales

Class Two:

Single object still life (i.e. a fruit), experiment applying colour and value to an object

Class Three:

Monotone still life (one colour or grey)

Understanding value, light, space, and composition. This will provide students with a better understanding of light and composition without having to master colour application yet.

Class Four:

Colour still life exploration

Putting it all together by exploring light, value, colour, space, and composition in one image.

Date: January 11, 18, 25, February 1

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Course begins on January 11 and runs for four weeks

Cost: $105+HST for 4 classes (not  including materials)

Cost: $135+HST for 4 classes (including your acrylic painting kit for the course). The last day to request kits  for the GTA is  January 4.

Last day for shipping kits outside of the GTA is January 2. Please note, shipping charges will apply. Kits can be picked up from the studio.

Your Acrylic Painting Kit includes:

  • A sketching pencil
  • Cut sponges
  • A palette
  • A ruler
  • 1 eraser
  • Acrylic canvas paper pad
  • 11×14 canvas
  • 6 small bottles of paint
  • Assorted paint brushes (small, medium & large)
  • Paper towel
  • A water cup
  • A disposable smock
  • 11×14 masonite board
  • Masking Tape
