Do I need to have a background in art to participate?
At Fresh Paint Studio, no experience is required! We can help guide you through the process of creating a finished piece of art or you can create a freeflow painting without any instruction.
Do you have a minimum number of people required to hold a workshop?
We will teach a workshop as long as four people are signed up. In the event that not enough people have signed up for a class, we will contact those signed up the day before the class to let them know about the cancellation. One way to be sure your class won’t be cancelled is to get a few friends to sign up with you!
What should I wear?
We will provide aprons, but we recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting paint on just in case! We use acrylic paint and water-based dyes which can stain clothes.
Do I need to sign up in advance for a workshop?
If you would like to take a workshop, it is strongly recommended that you sign up in advance because of our limited seating. However, if you and or a group of friends are interested in a free-flow painting session, you can just let us know and we will provide the canvas, brushes and paint.
Are there age requirements?
Our classes are designed for everyone 18 and up, and 10 and up when accompanied by an adult.
How do I cancel a class?
WE HAVE A 48 HOUR CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULE POLICY:
If you need to cancel or reschedule a reservation, you must do so a minimum of 48 hours before the event. If not you will be charged a$25 administration fee.
What does a Fresh Paint Studio Workshop like
You will find yourself in a relaxed, social setting working with an experienced artist who will help guide the class step-by-step through creating a piece of art using a line drawing as a reference.
Our workshops are a little different from the typical social painting workshops. We will not have you recreate an art image – line for line and colour for colour. We will provide line drawings that you can use for a reference and you will have the chance to incorporate colours and accents that will make the piece your own unique artistic creation.
It’s easy, fun, and totally stress free. Not to mention the fact that many people find our workshops to be a therapeutic and inspirational way to tap into their creative side and explore the creativity that they thought was left behind in their youth.
Remember there is no experience required!
These classes are perfect for beginners, so grab your friends, coworkers, son or daughter, or plan a unique date night. You can also fly solo and meet some creative people. Creating at Fresh Paint Studio is also a great way to bring the walls of your home or office to life because you are sure to go home with an inspirational artistic creation.
What kind of materials will I use?
At Fresh Paint Studio we use professional grade acrylic paints water-based dyes and other materials.
Is the paint and dye non-toxic?
At Fresh Paint Studio, we use certified non-toxic paint and water-based dyes.
“Recently, Roxane Tracey shared her expertise in the craft of poetry writing and painting with my grade eight classes. She spent the entire day with the students. She was prompt, well prepared, organized, enthusiastic, and most of all demonstrated a love of learning as she illustrated the joy of combining these two art forms.”

“We are indebted to Roxane for her skill and willing heart to work with the Humberwood students. We heartily recommend her to other schools who are looking for a facilitator to do creative art and poetry workshops.”
