Beauty of the Bluffs – Watercolor Landscape Exploration Course, Beginner to Intermediate

Description

Join us in discovering the Beauty of the Bluffs through watercolor painting. This beginner friendly course is perfect for those adventurous souls wanting to get creative out in nature. Learn the skills and techniques to create beautiful watercolor paintings you’ll be proud to show your friends and family.

The Beauty of the Bluffs – Watercolor Landscape Exploration Course provides a unique opportunity to paint the Scarborough Bluffs and surrounding park in person. In this course, we will learn traditional watercolor methods and techniques to create unique landscape paintings. We will learn to paint trees, grass, water, and most importantly – the Bluffs. We will cover topics including colour mixing, composition, watercolor techniques, washes, and more. Discover new skills, broaden your creative tool kit, and build a solid foundation to work from in order to create beautiful watercolour landscapes.

 

The course begins Thursday, September 28th 2023 and continues for four weeks (Thursdays – September 28, October 5, October 12, October 19).

 

We will have Creative Watercolor Kits available, which include:

  • Watercolor paints (either a 12 colour pan or 12 watercolor tubes)
  • Assorted watercolour brushes
  • Water brush pen
  • 9×12 watercolour pad
  • Mixing palette
  • 1 Roll of painters tape
  • 4 Disposable smocks

 

Participants are welcome to use their own supplies, either in addition to or instead of our kits. Our kits are not sold in partial quantities.

Length: 4 weekly sessions of 1.5 – 2 hours in length

Cost Including Art Kit: $170+HST

Cost Without Art Kit: $120+HST

Parking & TTC:

Participants are expected to meet at Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe the first class (September 28th) where participants will receive their creative kits, go over course expectations, and practice some basic techniques. The other three classes (October 5, October 12, October 19) will take place at the Scarborough Bluffs. 

There is street parking along the Danforth and several Green P parking lots near Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe. Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe is located halfway between Coxwell and Woodbine stations.

If you plan to drive to Scarborough Bluffs, there is paid parking available at the park. Use the parking lot 1 Brimley Road. If you plan to take the TTC to Scarborough Bluffs, take the 201 bus from Kennedy station.

Note: Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe does not cover any parking or transportation fees. Participants are expected to pay their own transportation costs.
